The Head of Legal is responsible for leading and managing the University’s legal services and contract services functions. The most senior legal role in the University, it heads up a team of around eight, and reports direct to the University Secretary.
The position encompasses a broad range of legal areas, as well as having responsibility for contract services. It covers areas as diverse as contracts, intellectual property, disputes, FOI, Infrastructure projects and property. The position will have supervisory responsibilities, setting work priorities and managing workflows, and as a leader, will build team and individual capabilities through leading and developing the quality of work undertaken by others. About You
The lawyer we seek will have a track record of achievement in commercial law, gained in a large and complex environment or law firm. They will be results oriented, commercially minded, and able to deal with senior managers and complex issues in a time-effective manner. Highly evolved interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team will complete the package.
