They're now seeking to appoint a suitably qualified (HR/Legal) Workplace Relations Business Partner/Lawyer to become a pivotal player providing advice & consultancy to key stakeholders across the business working closely with the Operations group

Reporting to the People & Culture Director this role provides the opportunity to utilise your Employment/Workplace Relations Legal skills in the planning, advising, direction and coordination of ER/IR activities and strategies for the organisations operations.  Some of the key responsibilities in this role will include (but not be limited to):-

As the 'subject matter expert' for Employment & Workplace Relations you will act as a Consultant/Legal Adviser to the business:-
  • Supporting operational change initiatives;
  • Providing tactical & strategic advice around complex IR/ER matters;
  • Working with leaders in the prevention/resolution of disputes/grievances; 
  • Assist with industrial bargaining, advocacy and industrial disputes;
  • Overseeing any employment related litigation;
  • Draft, interpret, apply and advise on Legislation, Policy & Procedures etc.; 
  • Ensuring compliance with employment related legal standards & regulatory requirements; and
  • Manage, lead & negotiate across a range of HR/IR matters.
As the HR Business Partner the role will also have oversight/responsibility for Operations, Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Talent Management, Organisational Development and Leadership, Diversity & Inclusion.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have:
  • Proven industrial and employee relations expertise, including industrial bargaining and disputes
  • Highly developed analytical and drafting skills with attention to detail;
  • Knowledge of corporate, regulatory compliance and safety management;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Law (strong knowledge of State/Federal Employment laws);
  • Outstanding communication, influencing & negotiation skills, as a 'people leader' able to deal with a diverse range of stakeholders (both internal & external) from varied industries and backgrounds.
