About our client/role...
Our public sector client offers the opportunity (on a 12-18 month contract basis) for a talented Tax Professional to become a member of a collaborative team as a Goods and Service Tax specialist! Joining their high-performance team you will be working in a client-centric environment providing advice around all aspects of GST, particularly as it relates to larger companies & private groups.

As a tax specialist with proven skills in the areas of law, commerce, taxation or accounting, your commercial experience will be invaluable to this role. This is an opportunity to work with like-minded and experienced tax specialists tasked with improving tax compliance in an advisory capacity to facilitate, negotiate & drive the right outcomes are achieved.

The ideal candidate has:-
• knowledge and experience of the GST legislative and financial environments, particularly in the areas of large public and private groups and multinational enterprises
experience in providing GST consulting advice and/or GST compliance experience
• an understanding and experience of the systems, processes and controls that are relevant to the preparation of financial statements
• an understanding and experience of structuring and tax planning approaches used in large businesses
• negotiated with clients using professional judgement and knowledge to influence outcomes
• a degree in tax, accounting, commerce or law & 3 – 5+ years’ pqe in the tax, accounting or law fields (ideally from a mid-tier or large firm and corporate experience is also highly regarded)
Other key skills, knowledge and experience:

• Strong drive to achieve outcomes within set time frames;
• Ability to work collaboratively with others;
• Highly developed negotiation and relationship management skills;
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

With various offices, the role can be based in Melbourne (or Sydney/Brisbane) however, you must be an Australian Citizen to apply.
