Opportunity for journalist to join the nation’s leading business publisher

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a journalist to join a leading legal title, creating content for an audience of lawyers, in-house counsel and law students.

This established brand is experiencing strong circulation and revenue growth, and Momentum Media is seeking a driven and experienced journalist to join our talented team.

The monthly print magazine, established in 2000, is complemented by a robust website, large social media presence, broadcasting and events program.

Focused on the business of law in Australia, Lawyers Weekly covers the latest news, analysis, opinions, gossip, appointments and developments of this dynamic industry.

The role

Reporting directly to senior editorial staff, you’ll be required to plan, source, curate and write both news and feature content for the print and online editions.

You will be contributing to all aspects of the production cycle, including writing and contributing to editorial meetings, attending after-work functions and more.

As you gain confidence and experience in the role, there will be excellent opportunities to take on new challenges that will advance your career.

The candidate

The ideal candidate will have a degree in journalism or similar, with experience writing for a business publication. Knowledge of law is desirable although not essential.

You’ll have excellent writing skills, an eye for creating exciting and engaging copy, good time management, plus meticulous respect for meeting deadlines.

The company

Momentum Media is recognised as one of Australia's leading business publishers and has secured numerous accolades since its creation in 2007.

Highlighting the company's success, Momentum Media has been recognised in the BRW Fast 100 ranking in 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011, and is one of the fastest growing and most successful media businesses in Australia.

Momentum was awarded the prestigious title of Business Publishing Company of the Year at the 2015 and 2014 Publish Awards.

Salary will be based on experience and skills. To apply, please submit a CV and cover letter. Only successful applicants will be contacted for an interview.
