About the firm...
Our client is a prominent mid-tier law firm, with a highly regarded Construction team!  Owing to growth they now seek an experienced Construction Lawyer at Senior Associate level for the team, in a pivotal role, working closely with eminent Construction Law Partners!  The firm prides themselves on their people & culture, offering a collaborative workplace & providing exceptional service to their clientele across diverse sectors & practice groups.

About the role...
The firm now has an opportunity within their highly regarded Victorian Construction Team for a proven Construction Lawyer at Senior Associate level, to predominantly handle front-end matters, working alongside accessible Partners and the team.

Key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):-
  • Assisting & advising commercial clients in relation to large-scale & often landmark property, infrastructure & development projects (including PPP's); 
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating all types of project documents, eg. construction contracts, tenders and consultant agreements, bank side deeds etc. and providing advice on contract administration (incl. prosecution & defending of claims) etc.
Ideally, suitable candidates will have:
  • Proven (incl. Victorian) construction law (either or both front/back end) expertise eg. in matters of procurement incl. construct only, design and construct, managing contractors, alliancing, joint ventures/consortiums, PPPs etc.; 
  • Strong technical skills & solid understanding of industry standard contracts and associated risk allocation; preparing tender contract documents; review/analyse those of others;  
  • Experience in high level & complex contract negotiations, client management/development; 
  • Be comfortable in working autonomously, within a team and mentoring those less experienced & requiring some guidance.
  • Play an active role in ongoing client development/marketing initiatives.
