You are an experienced banking lawyer who thrives on legal excellence and professionalism in actively managing legal risk in transactions and prioritising fairness for our customers. You will see your accomplishments in contributing to the success of the NAB Group by pro-actively supporting NAB’s Capital Markets & Advisory business within Corporate & Institutional Banking, while collaborating with other members of the Legal team, external counsel and relevant stakeholders within the Corporate & Institutional Banking, Risk and Commercial Services divisions.
What you will bring
You have a tertiary qualification in Law and are admitted to practice as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales (or equivalent jurisdiction) and you have a current Practicing Certificate. You have 8 years’ plus post qualification experience including within the banking practice of a reputable law firm or at a reputable financial institution and can demonstrate:
- Expert technical competency in laws relating to banking and financial services, ideally including capital markets transactions
- A solid understanding of the financial services industry
- First-class communication, negotiation, drafting, problem solving and influencing skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to build credibility with business partners
- A positive, pro-active and agile mindset
- Strength in working collaboratively as a member of a team

Within the wider Corporate & Institutional Banking Legal team, you will be part of Capital Markets & Advisory Legal. We are a collegial team that supports each lawyer as they independently manage their matters.
