About the Position

An exciting opportunity has presented itself for an experienced solicitor to join a successful and longstanding law firm. Reporting to the Principal and Practice Manager, you will work on a diverse range of Litigation and Family Law matters. Working with a range of clients from diverse backgrounds, this role is required to prepare matters to the highest quality for our clients.

 

You will:

  • Advise clients on legal matters and research on matters
  • Carry out research and draft documents, such as affidavits and other documents
  • Run your own files from instruction to completion in a timely manner
  • Maintain detailed file notes 
  • Assist clients with a range of litigation matters, in all jurisdictions of the courts, boards and tribunals
  • Instructing counsel at conferences, mediations and court hearings
  • Focus of this role is to build lasting relationships and meet clients' needs. 

This is a full-time permanent position, Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • 3 years PAE in commercial litigation and hold a current practicing certificate
  • Sound knowledge of family law is essential; criminal law would be beneficial
  • Court appearances experience 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a part of a team
  • Sound computer skills and ability to type own reports, court documents, letters and undertake data entry
  • Proven conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • High attention to detail and excellent drafting skills
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
