The third annual Tonkin’s General Counsel Summit (GCS) will focus on company compliance, the financial impact of the carbon-pricing mechanism and good governance.
To be held at Sydney’s Grace Hotel on Monday and Tuesday (8 and 9 October), the GCS will help companies arm against legislative and regulatory pressures, as well as offer best practice insights from the chief legal counsel of Australia’s leading companies.

GCS will hear how some of Australia’s biggest companies foster better engagement between their legal and business teams.
There is an impressive line-up of speakers for the two days.
One of the highlights will be on Tuesday afternoon (9 October), when Rod Bordignon, Woolworth’s corporate and commercial legal manager, will discuss Driving high performance in-house alongside counsel for AMP, Challenger and Holcim Australia.
Australia’s leading law firms will be well represented at the Summit. Greg Goulding (pictured), partner at King & Wood Mallesons, will speak at the event, as will Ashurst partners Khai Dang and Graeme Tucker. Clayton Utz partners Brendan Bateman and Karen Evans-Cullen will also be among the speakers.
Other key speakers at the conference will include Jane Perrier, general counsel of intellectual property at Telstra, Coralie Kenny, principal legal counsel at Suncorp, and Jeremy Levy, legal director at Baxter Healthcare in Australia.
