A major international firm has added a firm in Saudi Arabia to its network.

INTERNATIONAL law firm Squire, Sanders & Dempsey has added a firm in Saudi Arabia to its network of independent firms.

The firm, which is headed from offices in Cleveland, will add El-Khoury & Partners, in Riyadh, as a partner.

Squire Sanders chairman R. Thomas Stanton said in a statement that the Middle East and North Africa regions are becoming increasingly important to clients.

“This initiative provides our clients with the global perspective, regional experience and cultural understanding that is essential for doing business in this dynamic market,” he said.

El-Khoury, founded in 2005, has offices in Riyadh and Beirut and lawyers fluent in Arabic, English and French. Squire Sanders lawyers have worked closely in the past with Ziad El-Khoury, who has been of counsel to the firm for several years.

The Saudi Arabia firm focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions, finance, communications, private/public partnerships, privatisations, energy, environmental law and international dispute resolution.

The development of the El-Khoury & Partners relationship was spearheaded by Squire Sanders partner Dale Stephenson, who has been actively involved in Middle East client activity for more than 15 years.
