THE WOMEN Lawyers Association of Queensland Inc (WLAQ) will be holding an awards dinner on 10 August at the Hilton Hotel in Brisbane. A bi-annual event, it seeks to celebrate the achievements of established and newly emerging female lawyers.

Up for the taking are the Queensland Woman Lawyer of the Year Award and the Emergent Woman Lawyer of the Year Award, which will be presented with a specially commissioned artwork from a state-based female artist and an unrestricted travel voucher.
The Honourable Mary Gaudron will be the guest speaker where she intends to discuss ‘The Rule of Law and Protection of Minority Rights’.
Law students and junior members of the profession are encouraged to attend this excellent networking opportunity with legal academics, other professionals and the first woman to hold a seat on the High Court.
