Justice Brian Tamberlin was appointed as the deputy president of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal on Friday 13 February.

Justice Tamberlin is currently a Judge of the Federal Court of Australia, and he will take up his new role on the Tribunal upon his retirement from the Court on 30 March.

His career includes working as a barrister in NSW for 27 years, specialising in town planning law, commercial law and administrative law and equity, and he was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1981. He has been a judge of the Federal Court since 1994 and a judge of the Supreme Court of the ACT since 2003.
