Gilbert + Tobin has announced another addition to its expanding new Melbourne office - head of Baker & McKenzie's banking and finance group, Nicholas Grambas.
A project and infrastructure partner, Grambas will join IT and telecommunications specialists, Michael Caplan and Cameron Whittfield, who both joined G+T in January from Blake Dawson and Freehills, respectively.
Grambas has an international career spanning both the legal and investment banking sectors and is recognised as a market leader in his field.
Although a key player in the Australia legal market employing more than 200 lawyers, Melbourne is the firm's first office outside its Sydney base.
To support this Melbourne expansion, G+T has announced in 2010 the appointment of six new partners across Sydney and Melbourne - including Caplan and Whittfield.
G+T managing partner Danny Gilbert was concise in his response to Lawyers Weekly when questioned about the firm's strategy for the region, revealing only that: "Our aim is to build a first rate corporate practice in Melbourne."
