The Honourable Catherine Branson QC, president of the Australian Human Rights Commission, has presented the 2010 National Children's and Youth Law Centre Children's Law Awards.

Supported by the Attorney General's office and hosted by Mallesons, the awards recognise the outstanding achievements and commitment of individuals and organisations across Australia which strive for the advancement of the interests and legal rights of children and young people.

This year's winners were Robert Croser, a legal representative for children in the Adelaide Youth Court, who received the National Award for Outstanding Legal Representation of the Rights and Interests of Children & Young People, and NSW Legal Aid lawyer Louise Sutherland, who took out the Media Award for Raising Awareness of Important Children's Legal Rights Issues.

The Youth Affairs Council of South Australia was also presented with the National Award for Outstanding Contribution to Advocacy in Policy or Law Reform to Advance the Legal Rights and Interests of Children & Young People.

Anna Radonic, Joe Harman, Katrina Wong, Nicholas Tucker, and the Eastern Community Legal Centre all received honourable mentions.
