Corrs Chambers Westgarth has been recognised for its legal work within the mental health sector.

The firm was awarded the FJ Angus Award at the 2010 Golden Opportunity Ball, hosted by the Mental Health Foundation Australia, as part of Mental Health week on 14 October.

Corrs provide pro bono legal services for the Mental Health Foundation Australia in the areas of education and raising awareness of mental health issues.

Val Gostencnik, Corrs national pro bono partner, said it was "a huge honour for the firm" to receive the award.

The annual Golden Opportunity Ball raises funds for programs that assist in the development of mental health and wellbeing in young Australians.
