Former High Court judge Michael Kirby is putting the finishing touches on his memoirs, with his publisher revealing the highly anticipated book will be released later this year.

Allen & Unwin confirmed this week that Kirby's book, originally scheduled for a June 2011 release, will instead hit book stores in October 2011.
Titled Fragments, Memories, Friends and written by Kirby himself, the publisher also confirmed that the book will see the judicial figure open up about his private life - especially about his thirty-year relationship with Johan van Vloten, his love of James Dean and the role of religion in his life.
