Six young lawyers have lined up the likes of fashion designer Peter Morrissey and actress Jodi Gordon for a breast cancer fundraiser.

The Black Tie for Breast Cancer charity gala event will be held at Doltone House in Sydney tonight. More than 600 people have paid $150 to attend the sold-out event, with guests able to mingle with stars in the world of fashion, sport and media.

"When we first started the event last year, we just wanted to organise a small party for our friends and family and raise some money,' said Marina Mitrevski, one of six lawyers on the seven-person organising committee. "We thought about 100 to 150 people would turn up, but more than 430 people came and we were able to raise over $100,000."

Mitrevski, an associate with Baker & McKenzie, is joined on the organising committee by Vanessa Pallone (Clayton Utz), Brianna Parbury and April Thomas (Norton Rose), Lexi Rosenwax (KPMG) and Claire MacMillan (Colin Biggers & Paisley). Each of these women have been personally touched by breast cancer, with Mitrevski losing an aunt, and Parbury, the committee's chair, losing her mother in 2009.

In addition to Morrissey and Gordon, this year's event features media personalities Sarah Cumming, Bianca Dye and Ant & Becks, fashion designer Rachel Gilbert and Sydney Roosters players Braith Anasta, Mitchell Aubusson and Nate Miles.

All money raised from the event will go towards treating breast cancer patients at the new Prince of Wales Cancer Centre in Sydney.
