INSPIRED BY a need to cater to the compliance training requirements of its top clients, Blake Dawson Waldron has launched a new website profiling its online compliance training product Salt — Self Administered Legal Training.

Arguing that compliance training is an area of increasing demand, particularly for large organisations, Elizabeth Broderick, BDW legal technology partner, said that half the firm’s top 50 clients “are including e-learning programs as part of their national compliance training programs”.

The Salt product uses a series of interactive training courses, developed by BDW lawyers, to implement across-the-board compliance training in key areas of law. Courses include topics such as trade practices, insider trading, occupational health and safety, privacy, and workplace relations. Also, two new courses — Contract Fundamentals and Corporate Governance — were recently added to the range.

“The corporate sector is moving towards the use of electronic and online technologies because of their easy-access and across-the-board training capability for large numbers of people. Employees can access training from their PCs, and mangers know that their people are receiving the same standard of training wherever they are based,” Broderick said.

The new website will allow users to access detailed information about the product, and to experience the interactive learning environment. Users can also preview testing and administration pages from Salt courses.
