Slater & Gordon has appointed two new leaders to head its personal injury practice in Queensland, including a principal lawyer from recently acquired law firm Trilby Misso.

Luke Short leaves his position as a principal lawyer at Trilby Misso to take on the new role of joint manager with Karen Simpson, who has been with Slater & Gordon for six years.

According to Slater & Gordon general manager Hayden Stephens, Short will be responsible for driving the growth of the firm in regional areas while Simpson's focus will be mainly on Brisbane and its surrounds.

"I will be working on building new relationships with clients, organisations and groups as Slater & Gordon continues to grow outside south-east Queensland," said Short, whose legal expertise has primarily been in WorkCover common law claims and CTP claims.

Short and Simpson will begin their roles as joint managers this month.
