The Perth office of DLA Piper has appointed corporate consultant Andrew Johnstone from Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW).

Johnstone joins DLA Piper in Perth as a consultant until he is admitted in Western Australia, at which time he will join the partnership. He specialises in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and contracts, with particular expertise in the oil and gas and transport sectors.

Johnstone has been a consultant at HFW in the United Kingdom since 2004. Prior to HFW, he was a partner at Stephenson Harwood (formerly Sinclair Roche & Temperley) for six years. He was also an external consultant to DLA Piper in London.

DLA Piper's Melbourne office has added corporate partner Simon Davidson, who has relocated from the firm's Dubai office.

Davidson has expertise in equity capital markets, having advised on public capital raisings across Australia, the UK, North America and the Middle East.

Originally from Melbourne, Davidson joined DLA's Dubai office in 2008. Prior to that, he worked spent 12 years at Minter Ellison in Melbourne and two years at Eversheds in London.
