ANY EDGE can make a difference in the battle to fill those talent gaps, so law firms are making sure their recruitment software is being marshalled to improve response times to applications and to collect crucial data.

Along with many firms over the past few years, at least two top-tier law firms have carried out major overhauls to their recruitment software in the past 18 months.

Minter Ellison’s head of recruitment, Julie Galligan, said that firm moved to a new system in part to reduce its reliance on recruitment agencies, and foster more direct contact with potential recruits.

Mallesons Stephen Jaques says its in-house-built system has halved the time it takes to recruit people to the firm by automating many processes.
