Intellectual Property Partner of the Year

Overview

This award recognises a partner (or partner equivalent) who has effectively upheld the legal responsibilities of clients involved in intellectual property. It includes intellectual property partners who have honed their information-sharing knowledge to advise clients on a number of matters, including, but not limited to, patent, trademark, copyright and design disputes. It is open to any partner (or partner equivalent) within a private practice firm who works primarily in intellectual property law. To be eligible for this award, the partner must highlight how he/she has continuously adapted to evolving intellectual property laws, ensuring the most favourable outcomes for clients, in the 12 months from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2017.

Assessment Criteria

Nominees will be judged on their responses to the following:

  • Detail outstanding work over 2017 that demonstrates excellence in your specific area of practice.
  • What were the main challenges you encountered in completing this work? How did you successfully overcome these?
  • Outline your contribution to the growth or financial performance of your practice area and/or the firm as a whole, with reference to financial or other relevant data.
  • How has your leadership shaped the culture and strategy of your practice group?

Each entrant must have at least one written reference of no more than 400 words from a current employer, a client or service provider. Please include the referee's name, job title and company.
