A newly listed investment company has been launched with advice from an international firm.

Deal significance: 8EC is a fund that will handle stocks with a relatively small market capitalisation.

According to a release by Ashurst, 8EC has proposed an IPO and listing on ASX as a listed investment company, whose investments will be managed by Eight Investment Partners Pty Ltd, including in relation to the preparation of a prospectus lodged with ASIC.

The offer involves the issue of new shares to raise up to $58 million (including oversubscriptions).

The prospectus was lodged with ASIC on 2 October.
