Agility Logistics, formerly PWC Logistics, bought Australian-based Pan Orient Project Logistics and took the remaining 75 per cent of LEP (New Zealand and Australia), a freight forwarding company held by Mainfreight.

Pan Orient specialises in the supply of logistics services to large projects in Australia and Papua New Guinea, particularly the mining sector.

Mainfreight said a significant proportion of the freight handled by LEP is sourced from the Agility network and it had become increasingly apparent that its logical owner was Agility.

Mainfreight will use the proceeds of the sale to fund further international expansion.

Agility has been expanding its network significantly in several countries. It has begun construction of a large facility near Houston international airport to deal with the transportation of oil industry equipment, and has signed with AMB for 55,680 sq metre distribution centre in Paris, and another 5,400 sq metres in Amsterdam.
