Ashurst adds 2 new partners

Ashurst has bolstered its risk advisory team with the appointment of two new partners, bringing the total number of partners in the practice to eight.

Niki Short and Chris Baker have both been appointed as partners of the firm’s risk advisory practice and bring with them more than four decades of legal and risk consulting experience combined.

Ms Short joins from Blackhall & Pearl and previously spent 14 years at Deloitte before becoming the global GM of operational risk and compliance at NAB. Mr Baker has been with Ashurst since 2020 and currently leads Ashurst Risk Advisory’s managed services and regulatory capabilities. He has over 25 years of experience across financial services, telecommunications, transport, and defence and a strong track record in resolving complex regulatory, conduct, compliance and risk-related matters.  

Head of Ashurst’s risk advisory practice, Philip Hardy, said that the new partners would help manage the rapid growth Ashurst Consulting has experienced since opening in mid-2020.

We are thrilled to welcome Niki to Ashurst, and extend a welcome to the partnership to both her and Chris. Their appointments bring the number of Ashurst Consulting partners to eight, capping off an amazing year of growth for the team.
