Clayton Utz promotes 30

BigLaw firm Clayton Utz has elevated 30 professionals to senior lawyer and manager positions.

The firm announced it had named one new special counsel, 27 new senior associates, and – in its forensic and technology services team – one new senior manager and one new manager.

The news follows the firm’s promotion of 77 to more senior roles in July of last year.

The newest special counsel is Ian Motti, in the firm’s Brisbane-based environment and planning team.

The 27 professionals promoted to senior associate are: Dylan Barber (competition, Sydney), Freya Bayne (public sector, Brisbane), Caroline Beasley (workplace relations, employment and safety, Canberra), Patrick Byrne (environment and planning, Brisbane), Katie Cameron (workplace relations, employment and safety, Melbourne), Julia Cantarella (public sector, Sydney), Cindy Chia (public sector, Canberra), Shirley Chung (public sector, Canberra), James Daff (workplace relations, employment and safety, Melbourne), Georgia Denny (corporate, M&A and capital markets, Perth), Kate Ervin (public sector, Canberra), Tim George (commercial litigation, Brisbane), Julia Gillies (environment and planning, Melbourne), Matthew Hakeem (banking and financial services, Sydney), James Harford (real estate, Sydney), Alana Hudson (workplace relations, employment and safety, Melbourne), Andrew Jackson (banking and financial services, Sydney), Katharine Kilroy (environment and planning, Melbourne), Christian McDowell (commercial litigation, Sydney), Tara Mulroy (commercial litigation, Brisbane), Daisy Oman (workplace relations, employment and safety, Melbourne), Heloise Ormandy (workplace relations, employment and safety, Sydney), Adriano Poncini (restructuring and insolvency, Perth), Guillaume Sabatier (taxation, Melbourne), Charlotte Streten (real estate, Brisbane), Scott Vanderwolf (corporate, M&A and capital markets, Sydney) and Melanie Vreeling (public sector, Brisbane).

Elsewhere, Kellie Yip was promoted to senior manager in Melbourne and Sai Gorthi was elevated to manager in Sydney in the firm’s forensic and technology services team.

The promotions took effect in January.
