Clifford Chance has promoted 29 lawyers to its partnership, including two in Australia. Eleven out of the 29 are women, and one in five of the 15 new partners in the US and UK have disclosed ethnicity identified as under-represented minority ethnic partners, the firm noted.

In Australia, Julia Dreosti and Robert Tang, both based in Sydney, have been promoted to the partnership.

Speaking about the new partners, Clifford Chance global managing partner Charles Adams said: “Investing in and nurturing our top talent in the areas where we can have the biggest impact on our clients’ success is right at the heart of our one firm global strategy.

“We look forward to these exceptional individuals continuing to achieve fantastic outcomes for our clients and to help define our long-term success as one of the world’s leading global elite firms.”

The firm’s global senior partner, Adrian Cartwright, said: “Huge congratulations to each of our newly promoted partners.

“They each bring the experience, skills and perspectives, as well as a collaborative team approach coupled with deep commercial acumen that allows them to deliver the full strength of our global platform and capabilities for the benefit of our clients and the wider firm.”

Elsewhere, 15 lawyers at Clifford Chance have been promoted to counsel, including four in Australia.

In the firm’s global financial markets practice, Adam Wood (Perth) and Alexander Sorgese (Sydney) have been promoted, as have Rodolphe Ruffie-Farrugia (Perth) and Daniel Forster (Sydney) in the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution practice.

Clifford Chance Asia-Pacific regional managing partner Connie Heng said: “I am thrilled to announce the promotions of this outstanding group of lawyers who have demonstrated individual and collaborative excellence and a consistent commitment to delivering exceptional legal expertise and service for our clients.

“These promotions represent the depth and breadth of our talent across the region and our practices that enable the successes of the firm and our clients.”

All promotions took effect on 1 May, with the firm’s cohort of partners now up to 661.
