Minter Ellison has brought on Stephen Loosley, a former NSW senator and national president of the Australian Labour Party, as a special counsel.

Loosley is also a former partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal, Dunhill Madden Butler, and most recently he worked at investment and advisory firm Babcock & Brown. He is also currently the chairman of the Committee for Sydney and of the Strategic Policy Institute in Canberra, and he serves on numerous boards.

In his new role, Loosley will help the firm's leadership team on business development initiatives targeting both the public and private sectors.
