Law Squared has added half a dozen professionals in the last three months, despite the turbulence and economic downturn in the wake of the age of coronavirus.

The firm has hired Katherine Boyles, Annika Childs and Elle Jones for its commercial team, Marcus Brash and Rosetta Del Giudice for its disputes and litigation team, and Alex Bogart-King for the operations team in a business development capacity.

It is thrilling for Law Squared, founder and director Demetrio Zema said, to have expanded its numbers as the pandemic continues.

“Unfortunately, we’ve seen many businesses across an array of industries having to let go of their employees due to the effects of COVID-19, however here at Law Squared, we have been in the fortunate position that the demand for our services has actually increased during the pandemic and therefore with that increase in demand has come a need to rapidly grow our team,” he proclaimed.

“We’ve been able to double our commercial and disputes + litigation teams in the space of three months and we are currently in the process of searching for a new corporate lawyer to join the team, which is really exciting for not only myself but also the entire firm.”

The three new commercial lawyers, Mr Zema continued, will assist the “real increase in demand” the firm has seen for its services in this space during the pandemic, especially in relation to commercial leases, regulatory and compliance matters and other legal issues arising out of COVID-19-related challenges.

“That’s why we made it a real priority to grow our commercial team, and by bringing in Katherine, Annika and Elle, it has allowed us to continue to grow our commercial offering for our clients,” he explained.

“It has also allowed us to bring in a new area of regulatory and compliance skill set for financial services clients.”

Moreover, the addition of Mr Brash and Ms Del Giudice will “really strengthen” the disputes and litigation arm of the firm, Mr Zema submitted.

“Having both Marcus and Rosetta join our disputes + litigation team over the past couple of months has allowed our team to continue to flourish and take on additional clients” he said.

“Both Marcus and Rosetta have hit the ground running and have settled into life at Law Squared seamlessly.”

Finally, the addition of Mr Bogart-King will help the business development arm of the firm continue to move forward.

“We believe that our operations team is as important as our legal team,” Mr Zema concluded.
