MARQUE LAWYERS, the brainchild of former Gadens managing partner Michael Bradley, has posted an amusing job advertisement on its self-proclaimed "world's worst website".

The firm is seeking a law clerk, or, in its own words, "somebody to fill the massive gap at the bottom of our food chain".

Candidates must: have a law degree, "or something approximating it" and be "desperate to take on all manner of tasks delegated to them by everyone from partners to the junior lawyers to Joe the IT guy who comes in when we break a computer". The ad also encourages potential applicants to recognise that "in this market, any job is a good job".

Bradley is known for his eccentric and amusing stunts, perhaps the most notorious being his decision in 2005 to give all staff at Gadens $400 to buy a pair of shoes. He left Gadens last year to set up Marque Lawyers, reportedly because Gadens was becoming too conservative.
