Today's announcement (29th June) by Federal Attorney-General Robert McClelland and Federal Member for Leichhardt Jim Turnour will see the funding divided between the Cairns Community Legal Centre, the North Queensland Women's Legal Service, the Townsville Community Legal Service, the Townsville Family Relationship Centre and the Cairns Family Pathway Network.
"These services are doing a fantastic job working together to provide expert advice and support for separating families in the local community," Turnour said.
"It is important that families have access to a coordinated range of legal, counselling and information services. This funding will help families in North Queensland obtain appropriate services as quickly and efficiently as possible."
