Managing partner Paul Hopkins has announced that Peter Dovolil, Milton Latta and Jonathon Wood have joined the firms’ partnership ranks. The promotions are in addition to the elevation of Amy Heselwood to special counsel and the appointment of new lawyer to the firm Amanda Cann into the same position.

Commenting on the appointments, Mr Hopkins said: “It is always an exciting time when we celebrate the elevations of outstanding staff and recognise the hard work, dedication and specialist expertise they provide to their clients and bring to the firm.”

New partner Mr Dovolil specialises in insurance claims with an industrial relations and employment focus. He acts for insurers and major corporate clients and has significant experience in personal injury claims involving labour hire. Mr Dovolil also advises on indemnity issues and has experience in property damage matters.

Mr Latta acts for insurers and corporate clients in the defence of property and fire damage claims, recovery and subrogation and personal injury claims. Having worked in the engineering and manufacturing sectors, Mr Latta has an advantage in matters involving product defects, complex property damage and workplace injuries.

Final new partner Mr Wood joined the firm last year but has 17 years of experience in transactional and advisory matters. He has worked on mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements and corporate governance. Mr Wood worked with ASX companies, investors, insurers and private equity firms.

New special counsel Ms Heselwood specialises in complex commercial litigation, including shareholder disputes. She acts for a variety of public and private sector clients, which frequently involves multi-party disputes in the Supreme Court, and applies her expertise in using technology to ensure disputes are run efficiently.

“These elevations are an endorsement of not only the firm’s growth and strong values, but Peter, Milton, Jonathan and Amy’s full commitment and service offering to clients at all times, regardless of the circumstances,” Mr Hopkins said.

Ms Cann, newly appointed special counsel, will work with the construction and engineering team. She specialises in construction insurance law, management of public liability, contract work claims, and provision of complex coverage advice.
