Kyle Kimball, the founder of Sunshine Coast-based firm Sajen Legal, has announced his transition from the director position to that of strategic adviser.

Kimball founded Sajen Legal, originally known as Kimball Wood Solicitors, in 1997, and he has served as director throughout its 26 years of operation.

The commercial litigation firm expressed how Kimball’s “innovative approach to legal practice, particularly his introduction of fixed-fee retainers, has revolutionised how clients engage with legal services, fostering transparency and trust”.

Kimball underscored his excitement about starting his new position, highlighting how it will allow him to spend more time with his family.

“As I transition away from the rigours of daily litigation and firm management, I am excited to tackle my new role as strategic advisor.

“However, after nearly four decades of running a successful law practice, I am looking forward to getting a balance back in my life that allows me to spend more time with my wife and children, who are now all young adults,” Kimball commented.

Sajen Legal has announced that Tim Borham and Vincent Berry will be stepping into the role previously held by Kimball, aiming to “bring a blend of innovative thinking and solid experience to their leadership”.

Borham, who has been with Sajen Legal for over 16 years, outlined how Kimball’s leadership has served as an inspiration to him and the firm.

“Kyle has been an incredible mentor and leader, and it’s an honour to build on his legacy.

“His unwavering commitment to professionalism, innovation and fighting hard for our clients has earned Sajen Legal a reputation of which we are proud, and we will continue that legacy into the future,” Borham said.

Borham expressed that within his new position, his “focus will be on expanding our practice areas and integrating more cutting-edge technology to enhance our legal services”.

Berry also outlined the vision that both he and Borham share for Sajen Legal, stating: “Our vision is to enhance the agility of Sajen Legal in responding to the changing needs of our clients. We plan to deepen our commitment to maintaining the many valuable relationships the firm has built over its almost 30 years of operation.”

He also emphasised his excitement about Kimball’s ongoing involvement within the firm, which will allow him to provide assistance and guidance along the way.

“Kyle’s ongoing guidance as strategic advisor will be invaluable as we navigate these exciting developments, and we are delighted he will stay involved as a strategic advisor and help us to remain a leading commercial and litigation law firm, providing advice and mentoring the team as we continue to grow and expand,” Berry said.
