Cowell Clarke recruits seasoned specialists

South Australian law firm, Cowell Clarke, has appointed two specialist lawyers this month.

Ian Nosworthy (pictured) joins the practice as a Consultant, while Michael Hourigan has been appointed General Counsel.

Nosworthy is an experienced barrister, solicitor, arbitrator and mediator.

He is a Life Fellow and past National President of the Institute of Arbitration and Mediation Australia, a Grade One Arbitrator, and a nationally-accredited mediator.

His practice as an arbitrator and mediator focuses on construction and engineering disputes, as well as a wide range of insurance and commercial litigation.

Hourigan began his legal career as a Crown Prosecutor in the South Australian Department of Public Prosecutions before working overseas, particularly in the United States where he acted as Special Legal Counsel to a member of the United States Congress.

More recently, Hourigan has developed a commercial legal practice in Adelaide.

He joins Cowell Clarke to assist the firm deliver the “very best in value and service” to its clients, including utilising his broad network of lawyers and business colleagues around the world.

“Ian’s and Michael’s appointments recognise their significant capabilities and expertise in their particular practice areas,” said the firm’s Managing Partner, Jon Clarke.
