Natalie Medhurst, Commonwealth Games silver medallist and Queensland Firebirds and Australian Diamonds netballer, joined the firm in the role of associate consultant on 19 November.

Medhurst, who is about to graduate with a management and marketing degree, will bring a wealth of knowledge about the sports industry to her role, complementing the firm’s existing focus and expertise in this area.

According to managing director Matt McCormick, there are multiple benefits to the firm’s customers in giving them access to someone with Medhurst’s background.

“Being an elite athlete herself, Nat brings to our team a unique combination of marketing skills and a deep understanding of one of our key customer markets - the sports and entertainment industry.  This is a great fit with our philosophy,” he said.

Medhurst will continue to play for the Firebirds and represent Australia and has no plans to retire yet.

Khal Tarabay, formerly a deputy registrar with the Brisbane Magistrates’ Court, also joined as a lawyer on 5 November. His focus will be on litigious and commercial matters.

“After spending three months planning and implementing the firm’s strategic direction, the team is now on a recruitment drive for additional motivated, customer-focused lawyers in the areas of commercial law and litigation,” said McCormick.
