About the forum

Lawyers Weekly’s annual Women in Law Forum returned for its fourth instalment, celebrating and supporting the largest demographic within Australia’s legal profession.

The 2025 Forum arrived at a critical moment. While the nation continued to accelerate towards gender equality through new legislative frameworks, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives were unravelling in other jurisdictions. Technology was also reshaping how the profession worked and communicated, with profound implications for autonomy, accountability and equity.

Against this backdrop, the Women in Law Forum was designed to honour the women reshaping the legal landscape and to pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable future for those rising through the ranks. The event served as a vital platform for distinguished legal professionals, fierce advocates and passionate activists to confront the persistent inequities still affecting professional services and beyond.

Attendees came together as a dynamic and diverse community united in their commitment to driving meaningful change for women in law. Through robust discussion and shared vision, the Forum helped forge a path towards stronger support systems, effective allyship and improved working environments for the next generation.

The Women in Law Forum 2025 provided an invaluable space to observe and engage in conversations that will continue to influence how the Australian legal profession evolves—towards workplaces that are not only more diverse and equitable, but fundamentally safer.

Register your interest now for the Women in Law Forum 2026 and stay at the forefront of the movement shaping the future of Australia’s legal profession.
