Cindy Penrose

Cindy is the Chief Operating Officer of the Paul Ramsay Foundation. Australia’s largest Foundation with a core ambition to help break the cycle of disadvantage in Australia. [PRF supports the for-purpose sector with grants of more than $200 million made since 2016 to more than 70 different partners, committed to achieving lasting change].

Previously Cindy was the first female Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Bar Association. Cindy has considerable experience in both private practice and government as a criminal defence lawyer and has lectured in both criminal law and tort law. Cindy is a passionate advocate for mental health within the legal profession. She is a Director with Minds Count (formerly known as the Tristan Jepson Memorial Foundation), which aims to decrease work related psychological ill-health in the legal community and to promote workplace psychological health and safety.

Cindy holds a Masters Degree in Law along with undergraduate degrees in Commerce and Law. She received an academic scholarship to the University of Graz in Austria to study international law.
