Appointed as the NSW Legal Services Commissioner in March 2015 and oversees the office that receives and manages all complaints against lawyers in the state. Prior to his appointment, John practised as a solicitor for 35 years, predominantly as an Accredited Specialist in Criminal law. A large part of his career was spent in the Aboriginal Legal Service of which he was the Chief Legal Officer for 9 years at the time of his appointment.
