Welcome from Lawyers Weekly

Welcome to the 2025 Women in Law Awards!

On behalf of the Lawyers Weekly team, and all our event partners, I would like to thank you for attending the 14th annual Women in Law Awards – the premier awards program for female law students, academics, private practice and in-house professionals right across the country.

Tonight, as we kick back after wrapping up the third Women in Law Forum earlier today, we acknowledge and celebrate the ongoing and extraordinary contributions being made by women right across Australia’s legal landscape.

As we mark the 14th annual of the Women in Law Awards, I encourage you to reflect on the progress that has been made in the pursuit of equality – not just in the legal profession, but across the marketplace and broader society. This is not to say, of course, that we do not still have a long way to go (we do). But it is heartening and motivating to see the tide turning from where it was even a few short years ago. With constant vigilance and collaboration, we can continue to move the needle. Lawyers Weekly, for its part, will continue to use its voice to advocate for a better tomorrow for all legal professionals.

For now – kick back, relax and enjoy the evening! You’ve all earned it.

Sincerely,
Jerome Doraisamy
