DibbsBarker gets the Goss

DibbsBarker has hired Michael Goss as a partner in the firm’s financial services industry group.

Goss was formerly with Thynne & Macartney and started work at DibbsBarker on 19 June 2012. He brought three lawyers, a paralegal and a PA with him.

Goss has more than 20 years’ experience acting for major financial institutions and has existing relationships with many of DibbsBarker’s clients, which include three of the top four Australian banks, several international banks and two regional banks.

His specific areas of specialisation are: secured lending and project finance; agribusiness secured lending; security reviews and restructuring advice; farm debt mediation and consequential forbearance or enforcement, and commercial and residential secured insolvency.

His appointment, in addition to that of recent partner recruit Cameron McKenzie, demonstrates DibbsBarker’s commitment to increasing the service offering in the banking, finance and insolvency space.

Goss brought over with him special counsel Amanda Bull, a specialist in personal property securities (PPS) legislation and complex banking and finance legislation, and senior associate Sarah Papas, who brings experience in drafting and reviewing banking and finance documentation, security reviews and restructuring advice and debt mediations.

“I look forward to building on the financial services initiatives DibbsBarker already has in place and the opportunity to continue to work closely with our mutual clients,” said Goss.
