Russell Kennedy has promoted corporate and commercial lawyer Andrew Parlour to principal.

The promotion was effective since 1 July.

The firm also appointed Chris Pollard (on 9 July) as special counsel in its workplace relations, employment and safety team. Pollard joins Russell Kennedy from Hentys Lawyers.

Parlour’s principal area of practice is M&A and business structures. He also has extensive experience in company law compliance matters and has acted for a variety of start-ups in the retail, publishing and services industries. Parlour has been working at Russell Kennedy since mid 2007 and is admitted to practice in Victoria and in England and Wales.

Pollard ran the employment practice at Melbourne boutique firm Hentys Lawyers for three years. Before moving to Melbourne in 1997, he worked at Lempriere Abbott Mcleod Solicitors in South Australia. His expertise includes employer advisory work, enterprise bargaining agreements, employment contracts, industrial relations, unfair dismissals and OHS. Pollard also has a keen interest in sports, which has seen him develop a strong following of clients within the industry, including the AFL Coaches Association.
