HopgoodGanim has appointed two new partners in its litigation & dispute resolution team, and has also made seven other appointments throughout the firm.

Richard Gardiner and Jonathan Ivanisevic were both appointed to partner. Gardiner (pictured) has more than 10 years’ experience advising on contractual, property, leasing and general commercial disputes. He advises clients including energy & resources companies, property developers, financial institutions and professional services, and has acted in numerous leasing disputes related to commercial and retail leases.

Ivanisevic specialises in commercial litigation and, in particular, advises on bankruptcy, insolvency, compulsory acquisitions and occupational health & safety prosecutions.

The firm also announced the appointments of a special counsel, two senior associates and four associates.

Daniel Pinti was appointed as special counsel in the banking & finance group. Pinti has extensive experience advising on complex property, project and structured finance transactions. He has a special interest in funding arrangements for the hospitality sector and has advised on financing for major hotel and resort developments in southeast Queensland.

Liz Cameron was appointed a senior associate in the corporate advisory group, with Ryan White appointed an associate in the same group.  Scott Macoun was appointed a senior associate in the insurance & risk group.

Two associates were appointed in the energy & resources group, Alison Wilckens and Courtney Smith, while Ben Ricketts was appointed associate in the litigation & dispute resolution group.

Managing partner Bruce Humphrys said the promotions support the growth of the firm in both Brisbane and Perth following its recent merger with Q Legal.

“These promotions will ensure we continue to provide outstanding service to our clients in areas of high demand,” he said.

“The appointment of two partners to our litigation team ensures we keep pace with that demand and provide the right expertise for our clients.”

Humphrys added: “These lawyers have all made outstanding contributions to the firm and continually strive to deliver exceptional outcomes and service for our clients.”

The appointments took effect on 1 January.
