Paul Crawford and Dan Kynaston have moved into the partner ranks. Crawford was appointed a partner in the national government and real estate sector teams on 1 January 2012 and has been with the firm since 1997. Kynaston was appointed a partner in national government and dispute resolution teams on 1 January 2012 and has been with the firm since 1998.

The new special counsel include Bruce Brown and Andrew Leece. Brown joins the firm from the Department of Finance and Deregulation where he held the position of special counsel. He is the former national president of the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association, has also worked at the Office of Parliamentary Counsel, the ACCC and ASIC.

Leece returns to King & Wood Mallesons after three years as general counsel at the Canberra Airport. He previously worked as a senior associate in King & Wood Mallesons commercial and government practice groups.

Newly appointed senior associate Kishwar Rahman, who joins the firm from the Department of Finance and Deregulation where she was a principal legal officer.
