Allens has hired a new partner for its oil and gas practice in Perth.
Tracey Greenaway will join the firm in October from the Australian arm of oil company Shell International Petroleum, where she was senior legal counsel.
Greenaway started her in-house work at Shell in the company’s London and The Hague offices, and then moved to Perth, giving her eight years at the company.
Allens said the new partner has extensive experience in the development and commercialisation of LNG projects, and that she has worked on a wide range of oil and gas matters.
Before joining Shell, Greenaway was at Linklaters, where she was part of the global projects team. Her appointment comes soon after the announced merger between Allens Arthur Robinson and Linklaters.
Perth practice director Andrew Pascoe said the appointment comes as Western Australia continues to play a large role in driving both the Australian and Asia Pacific economies.
“We feel the energy and resources sector will continue to deliver major projects driven out of Western Australia but also across the region in the coming years,” he said.
