Melbourne mid tier makes promotions

Melbourne firm Cornwall Stodart has made two promotions to partner.

Carolyn Falcone (pictured) has joined the partnership in the firm’s corporate & commercial team, while Jarrod Munro joined the partnership in the commercial litigation team.

Falcone advises on a wide range of telecommunications projects; she also advises clients in areas including commercial contracts, capital raising, financial services, structuring and re-structuring, trade practices, energy and resources transactions, trusts and companies, corporate governance and fundraising.

She also has in-depth experience in the financial services industry and advises in all areas of commercial lending, including syndicated and construction loans.

Munro’s focus is on insolvency, banking & finance disputes, retail and commercial leasing disputes and construction disputes. He has particular expertise in the legal issues surrounding statutory demands, having acted for parties both applying for and resisting applications to set aside statutory demands on many occasions.

Cornwall Stodart also made an addition to the firm with the appointment of Riad Yasmine as a senior associate in the commercial property team. Yasmine previously worked at Reed Smith in London as an associate in the real estate group, and also as a solicitor in the property teams of Norton Gledhill and Kelly Hazell Quill Lawyers in Melbourne.

The firm also promoted Rouzana Iurovetski to special counsel; Alex Nicol, Sonali Stella and Rena Solomonidis to senior associate, and Jenny Gearing, Jacinta Atkinson, Jane O’Brien and Tanya Nguyen to associate.

Commenting on the appointments, Cornwall Stodart’s chairman of partners John Hutchings said: “In a time of market stress and tight budgets, we are thrilled to be able to promote our staff, showing that we’re not only weathering the global economic storm facing the legal sector but also expanding. Each promotion is thoroughly deserved and reflects our unrelenting commitment to secure, retain and promote the very best people – congratulations to all.”

All the appointments came into effect in July.
