David Marschke (pictured) has taken the role of special counsel at KPMG Tax Law, a boutique tax law firm affiliated with KPMG.
Marschke had been a partner at McCullough Robertson for 11 years, and a senior manager at Ernst & Young prior to that.
In October, a senior Herbert Smith Freehills litigation partner, Sarah Dunn, also joined KPMG Tax Law as a partner in Sydney.
The hires follow the defection of long-term tax partner Peter Poulos, who left KPMG to join Gadens in October.
While McCullough Robertson lost Marschke this year, the Queensland-based firm also gained a Henry Davis York real estate partner and two senior associates in Sydney this month (2 June).
The firm also appointed a new chairman of partners, native title expert Dominic McGann, in April.
