In his previous position, Kell acted as managing partner in the Sydney office.
Prior to this, Kell worked as a senior associate with Norton Rose Fulbright (then Deacons) and Ashurst (then Blake Dawson). He will start in his new role at Hicksons on 10 November.
“I chose Hicksons because they have a clear vision and commitment to expanding their capacity to meet the needs of large public sector and corporate clients,” said Kell.
“Hicksons are highly regarded for their ability to combine leading legal, consulting and implementation skills with genuine interest in their clients' businesses.
“Importantly, they’re cost conscious and work efficiently to deliver their clients' desired outcomes,” he added.
Kell’s appointment is part of Hicksons’ strategy to grow its offering to public sector and corporate clients. Hicksons managing partner John Markos said the firm had made an extensive search for legal expertise to find Kell.
Hicksons Lawyers has 160 staff, spread across offices in Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane.
