A former special counsel at Sparke Helmore has joined the partnership of Brisbane firm Thynne + Macartney.

Mark Winn (pictured) has been appointed as a partner with Thynne + Macartney’s business advisory and dispute resolution group. He is joined by former Sparkes lawyer Dominique Mayo.

Mr Winn specialises in commercial and property law, as well as commercial disputes and insolvency. He has acted in a number of significant commercial and industrial property transactions, including an infrastructure project worth more than one billion dollars.

Prior to joining Sparkes in 2007, Mr Winn was a special counsel and head of commercial at the Brisbane office of Abbott Tout Lawyers, which was acquired by HWL Ebsworth in 2007.

Last week, Sparkes also lost lawyer Liana Westcott, a Lawyers Weekly Law Awards finalist, who joined Russell Kennedy’s Canberra office.
