A senior associate has left two-office firm Finlaysons to be partner at a major national.

Damien Foulis (pictured) will take on the new role at HWL Ebsworth in their Adelaide office.

Mr Foulis has experience in due diligence, property sales, development and construction, commercial and retail leasing, land division, community title development and finance arrangements, according to a release from HWL Ebsworth.

Managing partner Juan Martinez said Mr Foulis’ appointment would expand the firm’s property offering.

“Damien has established himself as an outstanding practitioner in South Australia and I am proud that we are in a position to offer another highly regarded young lawyer an opportunity to progress to partnership,” Mr Martinez said.

“Damien has been appointed with the strategic objective of ensuring we can offer our clients specialist property expertise across each of the commercial, industrial, retail and residential sectors in all mainland Australian States and Territories."

The firm recently announced infrastructure partner Michael Tuckfield had joined its Melbourne team from Clayton Utz.

In December last year, it acquired two new offices in Alice Springs and Darwin to expand its national network.

Meanwhile, two partners and a senior associate from Finlaysons broke away in March to launch their own firm.
