KPMG, M+K Lawyers, Gadens and Herbert Smith Freehills have each lost a lawyer to Mills Oakley.

Former Herbert Smith Freehills senior lawyer Zac Kerr has joined Mills Oakley as a partner in the Melbourne office, along with John Turnbull from M+K Lawyers and David Passarella from Gadens.

KPMG special counsel and tax specialist David Marschke has joined Mills Oakley as a partner in the Brisbane office.

The four most recent hires come after Mills Oakley appointed insurance lawyer Katherine Ruschen as a Sydney partner in August this year. Ms Ruschen moved from boutique firm Yeldham Price O’Brien Lusk.

These latest hires will take the Mills Oakley partnership to 77 in total. The firm has 520 staff nationwide.

*Correction: this article originally stated that Mr Turnbull was previously at KPMG.
