Global firm Norton Rose Fulbright has appointed a new construction and engineering partner from a national firm.

Global firm Norton Rose Fulbright has appointed a new construction and engineering partner from a national firm.

Construction and engineering disputes lawyer Peter Lamont (pictured) has left Clayton Utz to join Norton Rose Fulbright's Brisbane office.

Mr Lamont has experience advising in the mining, construction and projects sectors, with a particular focus on the oil and gas industry.

Wayne Spanner, Norton Rose Fulbright's managing partner in Australia, said: “The Asia-Pacific region’s energy, mining and infrastructure industries have a vibrant future, and we see significant opportunities for many of our local and international clients.”

He continued: “The addition of someone of Peter’s calibre to our busy Brisbane and national construction and engineering teams will deepen our talent pool and support for our clients.”

Meanwhile, a number of partners have recently left Norton Rose Fulbright, including Arthur Chong who joined DLA Piper, Dr Ashley Tsacalos who joined Clayton Utz, Shaun Temby who joined Maddocks, Marcus O’Brien who joined Clyde & Co and Andrew Rankin who joined DibbsBarker.
